چکیده

This paper studies the dispersion of GPR wave’s phase velocity at different wideband frequencies in plywood and concrete with varying moisture content. study makes use two antennas 2 GHz centre frequency operating wide angle reflection refraction (WARR) mode computation spectral analysis surface wave (SASW). Computation velocities is based on acquisition cross-power spectrum unwrap distorted ground waves positions closer to farther away from transmitting antenna. The are found experience greater low regimes within effective bandwidths determined thresholded by time–frequency (TFA) coherence plotting waves. validates not only methodology, but also identifies optimal distance between first (Rx1) second (Rx2) receivers as λ/2, which a fixed transmitter (Tx) minus receiver distance. It serves an indication changeable separation when other lower used because distances Tx-Rx1 Rx1-Rx2 wavelength dependent thus dependent. Effects contents chloride contamination were characterized according plots that traelling much decelerated than higher frequencies. research contributes building “GPR-WARR machine” suggested Annan Jackson (2017) [1], effects can be inversely modelled characterize variations material properties infrastructure means detecting damage.

Composite Material Defects Characterization Using Leaky Lamb Wave Dispersion Data

Leaky Lamb waves (LLW) propagation in composite materials has been studied extensively since it was first observed in 1982. The wave is induced using a pitch-catch arrangement and the plate wave modes are detected by identifying minima in the reflected spectra to obtain the dispersion data. The wave behavior in multi-orientation laminates was well documented and corroborated experimentally with...

Characterization of Defects in Composite Material Using Rapidly Acquired Leaky Lamb Wave Dispersion Data

The phenomenon of Leaky Lamb waves (LLW) in composite materials was first observed in 1982 using a Schlieren system. It has been studied extensively by numerous investigators and successfully shown to be an effective quantitative NDE tool. In spite of the success, the method has not become a standard inspection technique due to shortcoming that will be addressed in this manuscript. The LLW phen...

Dispersion Evaluation In Optical Wave Guides

One of the factors which limits the transmission capacity of the fiber optics communication channel is the material dispersion. Exact analytical study of the material dispersion is often complex and involves calculating the derivatives of the refractive index of the core. These calculations are too cumbersome to do, especially for high-order derivatives. So material dispersion has only been stu...

Characterization of thin films using generalized lamb wave dispersion relations

We used the Continuous Wave Scanning Acoustic Microscope to characterize thin film materials. The measurement of the dispersion curve of surface waves and the inversion of this dispersion equation relation, allow to determine the elastic constants, the density or the thickness of a thin layer on a substrate. Besides, it is possible to have qualitative information on the adhesion properties of t...
